The painting is on panel treated with gesso. my under drawing is in Charcoal. By focusing on highlights and mid-tones, the natural colour of the board and the charcoal define the shadows allowing for a striking and marvelously light image.

Sweet Surrender was painted while contemplating my journey towards my current position in life and how, in my letting go and opening myself up to accept my fate, I found joy.
